We begin by selecting the composite shade against your natural teeth in good light, because the match is
everything. Then the tooth surface is lightly conditioned so the resin can grip, and Dr. Salinas applies the
composite in thin layers, shaping as she goes. Each layer is cured with a blue light, hardening in seconds. The
final steps are the artistry, trimming, refining edges, and polishing until the surface catches light like enamel.
You watch TV, we sculpt, and within the hour you walk out with the fix complete. There is no recovery and no
downtime. Eat lunch afterward if you like, though we suggest skipping coffee and red wine for the first couple
of days while the resin fully settles.

How long bonding lasts, and its honest limits
Well done bonding typically lasts three to ten years depending on location and habits, and touch ups are
quick and inexpensive when the time comes. Composite can pick up stain a bit faster than porcelain, so heavy
coffee and tobacco use will shorten its best years. Avoid chewing ice and biting nails, which shorten the
lifespan of natural teeth too, frankly.
